Weekly DSC Bike Rides are back!

Join us for a 10-mile bike ride on the Prairie Duneland Trail. Bike at your own pace, walk, jog, or rollerblade. We meet at Countryside Park North, just north of Route 6 (opposite Wilshire Drive) in Portage. We follow the good exercise with a casual dinner or drink at various local restaurants.

Bike, Hike, or Blade! Starting time is 6:00 PM. Call Charlie Cleek at 219-395-6666 for information or RSVP.

Our annual National Wild & Scenic Pine River canoe/kayak/camping trip is going July 10-12, 2026.

A great summer tradition - we float the beautiful Pine River through the Manistee National Forest, and the river is different every year!

DSC Blueberry Picking and Family Picnic!

Mark your Calendar for Saturday, July 18

We will meet at Bonnell Blueberry Farm (3655 S 750 W, San Pierre, IN) at 10:00 AM to pick-your-own blueberries or buy pre-picked. They are delicious! (If you want to pre-order a box, call Bonnell's in advance at 574-896-5365.)

Then Barry and Susie Matzat will host a Family Picnic at their South Farm Hunt Club in Winamac. Bring a side or dessert, and drinks to go with Barry’s famous pork chops! Also bring a folding chair so you can sit and soak it all in.

This will be a fun day for the whole family, so bring the kids and grandkids! Bring your swimwear if you want to dip in the lake or bring your fishing gear to catch "The Big One".

Directions to the South Farm Hunt Club and Pond: put 9032 W 700 N, Winamac, IN 46996 in your GPS. Look for the green South Farm Hunt Club signs across from Kersting's Cycle Center, then drive on through the gate and follow the gravel road back to the pond. Susie says the road curves a couple of times, but you can't get lost.

There is lots of shade for those who prefer to stay out of the sun or the water

If you are new to the club, please join us so that we can all get to know each other better!

If you know someone thinking of joining or just interested in coming, bring them along.

We (Duneland) will provide Burgers & dogs served at dinner time approx. 6:30

Our membership in the Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council facilitates sharing activities with other clubs throughout the Midwest. Check out the CMSC website at www.skicmsc.com for more information.

The 2026 Western Trip took Duneland to Schweitzer Mountain in northern Idaho. Spring skiing conditions did not slow down the fun!

Registration is not open for the 2027 DSC Western Trip to Sun Valley, Idaho!

Living in the Indiana Dunes provides DSC opportunities for unique hiking experiences. NPS Ranger Bill provided fascinating insights about ecosystem and history of the Pinhook Bog.

The next Duneland Ski Club General Meeting will be at 7:30 PM on July 20, 2026 at the Gary Sportsmen Club, 10101 Madison Street, Crown Point, IN 46307.
We have regular social events that are open to everyone, including Dine-Around Dinners, bike rides, and hikes. More information in our Newsletter.
Special events include the Pine River Camping/Canoeing Trip, a Railcats Baseball game, Holiday Concert, Pool Party, Chili Cookoff, and a Blueberry Picking/Family Picnic.
